Soft Things (featuring Laurie Berkner)

from Love Me For Who I Am by Brady Rymer and the Little Band That Could

/

about

As I wrote “Soft Things,” I heard Laurie Berkner’s pure, sweet and joyful voice in there. She generously agreed to sing with me, and our duet is included on the “Love Me For Who I Am” album, celebrating children of all abilities. I love the way Laurie sang around the melody, adding her playful and charming touch.
After this collaboration, we sang together on "Children Go Where I Send Thee," a beautiful old spiritual included on Laurie’s 2012 Christmas album, “A Laurie Berkner Christmas.” And now I’m playin’ bass with Laurie, Susie and Bob in The Laurie Berkner Band!

lyrics

Soft Things
A kitten’s fur or a bunny’s tail I’m thinkin’ of soft things
A big white cloud or a bride’s veil I’m dreamin’ of soft things

Like this soft, sweet song I’m singin’ A far off bell that’s ringin’
Sweet and soft I’m singin’ for you

A baby’s head with silky hair I’m touching soft things
A dandelion blown into the air I’m looking at soft things

CHORUS

My doggies belly when she rolls over I’m touchin’ soft things
Or the morning dew On a field of clover I’m walkin’ through soft things

CHORUS - a pure true melody ringin’

Cotton candy at a circus show I’m tastin’ soft things
or a lilac bush when the summer wind blows
I’m smellin’ soft things

CHORUS CHORUS - a pure true melody ringin’ I’m singin’ for you...
